Description

The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director, national and territorial governments, community organizations and other stakeholders to ensure the successful planning, execution, and evaluation of projects. This position is a key member of the Status of Women Council’s team and is responsible for overseeing various projects.

This position offers a unique opportunity to promote the organization’s goals and objectives and make a meaningful impact on women in the NWT.

Responsibilities

  1. Draft funding proposals to national and territorial governments and other funding bodies based on Council mission and strategy.
  2. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to identify project objectives, outcomes, and deliverables.
  3. Develop detailed project plans, and timelines, ensuring efficient utilization of available resources.
  4. Develop and manage project budgets ensuring financial accountability and compliance with funding requirements.
  5. Lead the execution and monitoring of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed on time, and within budget.
  6. Monitor project progress, identify potential challenges, and implement appropriate solutions to achieve project goals.
  7. Prepare accurate and timely reports, and project documentation, ensuring compliance with organizational and funding requirements.
  8. Network, liaise, and collaborate with other community organizations and groups to foster collaborative relationships and enhance the organization’s visibility.
  9. Collaborate with other staff to support the delivery of projects, programs, and public workshops and events relevant to the goals and work of the Council.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g. Gender Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Project Management, etc.).

Proven experience in project management, including planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, deliver presentations, and facilitate workshops.
