Based in Yellowknife, this position coordinates the annual membership drive and renewal and assists members from time to time with their business listings on our Spectacularnwt website. This position facilitates member involvement in cooperative marketing activities including, but not limited to cooperative advertising, consumer trade show participation, conference sponsorships and other partnerships.

This position also assists in handling inquiries from potential visitors to the NWT who contact NWT Tourism's Call Centre in overflow periods and provides administrative assistance and logistical supports during peak periods where additional resources are required.

This position works with the Marketing Director and Manager of Business Partnerships, to coordinate consumer-direct marketing initiatives and provides administrative and logistical coordination for a number of marketing and member activities.


Implements the annual membership drive and membership renewal process, maintaining an accurate membership list in accordance with both the Constitution and By-Laws and with Board Policy.

Liaises with members to assist them in understanding the marketing and other opportunities available to them on NWT Tourism's marketing platforms.

Ensures accurate voting lists for the Annual General Meeting

Provides administrative coordination for NWT Tourism's participation in consumer trades shows, and assists with consumer contests, spectacular brand merchandizing and processing orders from NWT Tourism's on line webstore.  This includes coordination of the involvement of NWT Tourism's members in marketing events, activities and in sponsorships and partnership activities.

Assembles budget information for marketing management, makes travel and other logistical arrangements, tracks costs and financial commitments, and coordinates related invoicing and/or payments, acting as administrative support to the Marketing Director as required.


Requires post-secondary education and training in the field of tourism hospitality, travel or marketing. Excellent verbal and written communications skills and advanced experience with EXCEL in preparing budgets and managing complex spreadsheets is required. Intermediate experience with Outlook, WORD and Power Point rounds out skills and the incumbent must be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to trouble shoot and problem solve. Knowledge of the NWT and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and an ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects concurrently is necessary.

NWTT is a not-for-profit organization, established in 1996, serving approximately 200 member businesses connected to the tourism industry. We are a small team of ten staff located in Yellowknife whose work is supported by our Agency of Record (Outcrop Communications) and our Social Media Contractor (Ollie Williams Media Ltd.) as well as by a number of General Sales Agents and Marketing Agency contractors in our key target markets (Japan, Germany, South Korea, China & Australia).
