Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Fieldhouse Supervisor, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of the Fieldhouse.  This position works primarily in the Fieldhouse as outlined but will also rotate into the other Facilities and/or is also responsible to work in the capacity of Grounds Maintainer when required operationally.

Qualifications

The successful incumbent must possess a grade 12 diploma, certification of completion of Building Operations Level 1 & 2 courses (or equivalent), a valid N.W.T. Class 5 Driver’s License with air endorsement, and Standard First Aid/CPR-C/AED certificate is required.    Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is essential.  Knowledge of minor equipment and machinery repair and maintenance is required.  Familiarity with trades such as plumbing and carpentry is an asset.   The requirements of the position are normally obtained through previous experience in a recreation facility setting.

 

 

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive salary starting at $66,966.57 as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including an annual housing allowance of $5400 and defined benefit pension plan.
