Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Maintenance Supervisor is primarily responsible for leading and delivering the preventative, predictive and overall maintenance program for all equipment, facilities and grounds owned and operated by AVENS – A Community for Seniors.
The general work environment is dynamic and work priorities changed based on unforeseen events. This position is responsible to ensure the facilities, systems and programs are operational. Leading a team of 2 to 3 maintenance employees ensuring tasks are completed by managing the work performance and overseeing the work activities is a key part of this role.
The upcoming expansions to the AVENS campus will add 102 units of independent housing and will provide for exciting growth and development opportunities as the campus expands. Be a part of a world class team bringing new options for seniors housing to the market.
- Must be able to obtain a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector criminal record check from the RCMP
- Class 5 drivers’ license is required
- A general understanding of plumbing, heating, carpentry, and mechanical equipment.
- 5th Class power engineering certificate is an asset
- Certification (Journeyman) in one or more of the following trades: plumbing, oil burner mechanic, electrical or other related trade is an asset
Equivalencies of education/on the job training and experience will be considered
Pay and Benefits
SALARY: $34.21-$38.79 per hour
WORK WEEK: Generally Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm, with the occasional weekend or on-call as needed.
VACATION & SICK LEAVE: paid hours starting with three weeks and increases based on length of employment as per Collective Agreement.
