We are currently offering an exciting opportunity for the right person to join and work alongside the dedicated and community focused team of Municipal Enforcement Officers in its Public Safety Department. We are seeking a professional, community-minded individual with a sound knowledge of law enforcement to assume the challenging and rewarding role of Municipal Enforcement Officer II.

Duties

Under the general supervision of the Supervisory Constable, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting vehicle and foot patrols of the city; issuing traffic violations and appearance notices; ensuring compliance with the Highway Traffic By-law and the NWT Motor Vehicles Act; serving court documents; performing traffic control; and ensuring compliance with the City By-laws, including Dog By-law, Noise By-law and Garbage By-law. This position involves shift work.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must possess a two year Law Enforcement Diploma or a minimum of two years law enforcement experience may be considered. A valid Driver’s Licence, Standard First Aid and CPR Certificates are required. Applicants are required to submit a Driver’s Abstract with their resume.

 

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive annual salary range of $68,659 - $82,123 as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a monthly housing allowance, a defined benefit pension plan and relocation assistance.
