Description
The Night Auditor is responsible for reconciling the front office accounting records for accuracy, and on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the hotel's financial records, tracks room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics.
Responsibilities
- Greets guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts
- Transfers charges and deposits to master accounts
- Verifies that all transactions performed at the front desk are supported by documentary evidence and signatures and that they have been correctly posted and allocated in the PMS system
- Prints and files reservations for the next business day
- Verifies that room rates are correct and posts those rates to guest accounts
- Prepares a summary of cash, cheque and credit card activities
Qualifications
- College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Minimum two years of hotel front desk experience, with experience handling cash, accounting procedures and general administrative tasks
- Hotel experience with point of sale and reservation software
