Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a professional, creative, highly skilled and experienced individual to assume the challenging and rewarding position of Program Manager.  The primary responsibilities include the administration, implementation and operation of all recreational programs, special events (excluding the Yellowknife Public Library), homelessness initiatives, policy development, facility booking, grant process and operation of the Ruth Inch Memorial Pool

Qualifications

Candidates must have a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of management experience, preferably in a municipal setting.   Also required is a comprehensive knowledge of and experience in a variety of recreation activities and programs, facility allocation, online recreation and facility booking programs, staging special events and in the management and operation of swimming pools.  Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, administration, and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to multi-task on a range of complex initiatives. In addition, some knowledge of homelessness issues in the NWT is also required. The job responsibilities also require the incumbent to exercise sound judgement and tact at all times, and to be both a strong team player and a leader who can work with minimal supervision.

The City of Yellowknife offers a competitive salary range of $113,264 to $141,579 as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a monthly housing allowance, a defined benefit pension plan and relocation assistance.
