Rowe's Construction currently has an excellent seasonal opportunity for a Site Superintendent with underground water & sewer experience to join our team in Hay River, NT.

As our new Site Superintendent, you will provide oversight and direction for the execution of our projects. This is a seasonal position and you will be working 12 hours per day, 7 days a week on a 6 week on, 2 week out shift rotation during our summer operations.

More specifically, you’ll manage daily operations in order to ensure the quality and timeliness of every build, covering everything from quality assurance to scheduling and personnel. Your builds will happen according to plan, on time, and on budget. You’ll also track compliance and regulations throughout the build, making sure that everything is up to code and that everyone is working safely and on time.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, your key responsibilities in this role will include:

  • Managing daily operations.
  • Overseeing projects.
  • Overseeing administration.
  • Ensuring that all safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Working collaboratively with engineers, estimators, and subcontractors.
  • Preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes, and additions to contractual documents.
  • Supervising crews and subcontractors.
  • Preparing construction schedules, milestones and monitoring progress.


To qualify for this role you will need to have a minimum of 5 years experience working as a superintendent and a minimum of 10 years experience in the construction industry, specifically with underground water & sewer systems. 

Previous HEO and project management experience, as well as the ability to use MS Office and Adobe PDF is also required. You will need to possess a valid Class 5 driver's license. First Aid experience is not required but will be considered an asset.

This particular project is located in Ft. Smith but will be based out of Hay River, therefore willingness to travel to various job sites throughout the Northwest Territories and tackle the unique challenges presented by conditions in this region will be necessary to succeed in this role.
