The City of Yellowknife is currently seeking a professional and highly motivated individual to assume the unique and rewarding role of Sustainability Projects Coordinator with the Public Works and Engineering Department.
Under the general direction of the Manager, Sustainability and Solid Waste Management, the incumbent plans, develops, implements and monitors various environmental sustainability projects in accordance with City direction. This includes, but is not limited to, the development and implementation of the Community Energy Plan (CEP), as well as projects related to waste diversion programs (recycling, composting, etc.), the implementation of the Strategic Waste Management Plan (SWMP), active transportation, and transit management.
The work requires a degree from a recognized university in an environmental, engineering, or business–related field, a minimum of three (3) years of experience related to environmental projects, climate change, and other sustainable projects and a valid Class 5 driver’s license. Further experience required is in the areas of project development and/or management roles in the environmental or energy sectors, as well as experience in public advocacy or in government.
The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive salary range of $81,669 - $98,488 and as well as a comprehensive benefits package including a $450.00 monthly housing allowance, a defined benefit pension plan and relocation assistance.
