We are currently seeking a vibrant, creative and skilled professional with a zealous love for our City to assume the challenging and rewarding role of Communications and Economic Development Officer for an approximate nine (9) month term to begin on approximately June 3, 2019.

Duties

Under the general direction of the Director of Policy, Communications and Economic Development, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the administration, implementation and operation of the City’s economic development, tourism and communications programs. Through regular direction from the Director, the incumbent assists with the implementation of policies and programs to ensure the operational objectives of the City are met. The incumbent shall work collaboratively with all departments within the City of Yellowknife to provide support and advice to ensure proper external communication processes are followed and outstanding customer service is achieved.

Qualifications

A degree in a Communications, Community Planning, Business Administration, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, plus a minimum of three(3) years related experience, which should include community engagement within a government or dynamic corporate environment. The incumbent should have strong graphic design, photography and writing skills, as well as strong interpersonal and public relations abilities. A background in business, economics or event planning would be a strong asset.

 

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive salary range and a monthly housing allowance.
